 Red Avadavat

The Red AvadavatRed Munia or Strawberry Finch (Amandava amandava) is a sparrow-sized bird of the Estrildidae family. It is found in the open fields and grasslands of tropical Asia and is popular as a cage bird due to the colourful plumage of the males in their breeding season. It breeds in the Indian Subcontinent in the Monsoon season.

Yellow-eyed Babbler

Pretty much seen in jungle in dense canopies and sometimes in grasslands too. They too stay in flocks of seven hence called as sath bhai(seven brothers).

Indian Scimitar Babbler

Found in various parts of India like all othr babblers but very less in numbers.

Common Tailor bird
Tailorbirds get their name from the way their nest is constructed. The edges of a large leaf are pierced and sewn together with plant fibre or spider silk to make a cradle in which the actual nest is built.

Plain Prinia 

A resident breeder from India to south China and southeast Asia. Typically found in wet lowland grassland, open woodland, scrub and sometimes gardens. The Plain Prinia builds its nest in a shrub or tall grass. These are 13–14 cm long warblers.

The Indian Silverbill 

The Indian Silverbill or White-throated Munia is a small passerine bird found in the Indian Subcontinent.Indian Silverbill is 11–11.5 cm long. Found near dry open scrub, fallow land and cultivation, sometimes near water.These birds are found in flocks.  They feed on the ground or on low shrubs and grass stalks. These are resident.

Ashy Prinia

The Ashy Prinia or Ashy Wren-Warbler (Prinia socialis), is a small warbler. This prinia is a resident breeder in the Indian Subcontinent, ranging across most of India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and western Myanmar.These are 13–14 cm long warblers. Found in dry open grassland, open woodland, scrub and in home gardens in many cities.

Yellow-throated Sparrow

The Yellow-throated Sparrow or Chestnut-shouldered Petronia is a species of sparrow found in Asia.Males have a chestnut shoulder patch which can sometimes be hard to see. They also have a pale yellow spot on the throat in fresh plumage. Females are duller and lack the chestnut shoulder patch. The yellow spot is much reduced or lacking in females.It is found in forest, gardens and open scrub habitats.

Wire-tailed Swallow

A small passerine bird in the swallow family. Often found near water bodies and swamp regions. They are always in a group or pairs. Nests are in open pipes or near sewage canals. Sometime the males have curved tails.

The Shikra (Accipiter badius) 
                               The Shikra (Accipiter badius) is a small bird of prey in the family Accipitridae found widely distributed in Asia and Africa where it is also called the Little Banded Goshawk. Its a small raptor (26–30 cm long) . The Shikra is found in a range of habitats including forests, farmland and urban areas. They are usually seen singly or in pairs. Males have a red iris while the females have a less red (yellowish orange) iris. 
Jungle Babbler
                               These are found in the Indian Subcontinent.They forage in small groups of 7 birds. So they have popular name of Seven Sisters or Saath bhai in hindi. The are often seen in gardens within large cities as well as in forested areas. These are  non-migratory. It is a noisy bird, and the presence of a flock may generally be known at some distance by the harsh mewing calls, continual chattering, squeaking and chirping produced by its members.

The Hoopoe is a medium sized bird, 25–32 cm.The diet of the Hoopoe is mostly composed of insects, although small reptiles and frogs as well as some plant matter such as seeds and berries are sometimes taken as well. Found in Indian Subcontinent, Central Africa to South Africa, Madagascar. 
Eurasian Spoonbill
                              The Eurasian Spoonbill or Common Spoonbill (Platalea leucorodia) is a wading bird . his is a Palearctic species, breeding from the United Kingdom and Spain in the west through to Japan, and also in North Africa.The breeding bird is all white except for its dark legs, black bill with a yellow tip, and a yellow breast patch . Diet consists of  aquatic insects, molluscs, crustaceans, worms, leeches, frogs, tadpoles and small fish.
Brahminy Myna or Brahminy Starling
                           The Brahminy Myna or Brahminy Starling (Sturnia pagodarum) is a member of the starling family of birds.This myna is pale buff creamy with a black cap and a loose crest. The bill is yellow with a bluish base.This passerine is typically found in dry forest, scrub jungle and cultivation and is often found close to human habitations.

 Coppersmith Barbet


The Coppersmith Barbet, Crimson-breasted Barbet or Coppersmith (Megalaima haemacephala), is a bird with crimson forehead and  throat. It is a resident found in the Indian Subcontinent and parts of Southeast Asia. Like other barbets, they chisel out a hole inside a tree to build their nest.Throughout their wide range they are found in gardens, groves and sparse woodland. 

Green Bee-eater


It is a bird found throughout parts of Africa and Asia which feeds mostly on bees and insects.Like other bee-eaters, this species is a richly colored, slender bird. It is about 9 inches (16–18 cm) long with about 2 inches made up by the elongated central tail-feathers. The sexes are not visually distinguishable.                   
Black-lored Tit 

                   The Black-lored Tit, Parus xanthogenys, is a passerine bird in the tit family Paridae. This species is a resident breeder in the Himalayas.It is a common bird in open tropical forests.The Black-lored Tit is, like other tits, a vocal bird, and has a large variety of calls, of which the most familiar is a si-si.

                               It is a resident breeder in open woodland in tropical Asia, east from the Indian Subcontinent to Southeast Asia.This bird is small (about 8–9 cm long) with yellowish olive upper parts, a white eye ring, yellow throat and vent. The belly is whitish grey but may have yellow in some subspecies. The sexes look similar. The species is found in a wide range of habitats from scrub to moist forest.These white-eyes are sociable, forming flocks which only separate on the approach of the breeding season. They are highly arboreal and only rarely descend to the ground. The breeding season is February to September but April is the peak breeding season.

Scaly-breasted Munia or Spotted Munia

A sparrow-sized estrildid finch native to tropical Asia.This Munia eats mainly on grass seeds apart from berries and small insects. They forage in flocks and communicate with soft calls and whistles.The species is highly social and may sometimes roost with other species of munias. This species is found in tropical plains and grasslands.

Females are short-tailed with rufous wings and a black head. They feed on insects, which they capture in the air often below a densely canopied tree.
